Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630

Best for budget buyers and students

Chrome Unboxed

The Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630 stretches the boundaries of the 2019 model. Thanks to its solid components, sturdy aluminum chassis, and 15.6-inch, 4K display, this affordable convertible is best for those who have a tight budget and students who want a decent Chromebook.

It features an excellent 4K display which is a great thing when in laptop or tablet mode. Unfortunately, the keyboard is squashy. Also, it can feel limiting since you can’t run Windows and macOS applications on the Chrome OS.

All-in-all, you can’t go wrong with this Chromebook as much as price is concerned. That’s because it’s a few hundred dollars less compared to its Windows counterparts. But most importantly, the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630 is a versatile all-around laptop.

Acer Chromebook 315

Best budget laptop with a big screen

Trusted Reviews

The Acer Chromebook 315 features a 15.6-inch touch screen and powered by an AMD processor. Although it doesn’t have glaring faults, unfortunately, it doesn’t have an excellent display. But it’s understandable since it’s a budget Chromebook.

This Chromebook features the AMD A4-9120C, dual-core, 1.6GHz processor, and Radeon R4 Integrated graphics. While it’s not really that exciting for a chipset, it still brings this 15.6-inch laptop to life. So, if you want a bigger laptop screen with touch screen features on a budget, the Acer Chromebook 315 is something you might be interested in.

Lenovo Chromebook 3 (11-inch)

Best for students and individuals with extremely tight budget

Walmart

With a price tag of less than $200, this is a great choice for parents with younger kids or it can even serve as a secondary machine. The Lenovo Chromebook 3, unfortunately, comes with a low-quality display which makes it a good budget laptop for kids.

The Lenovo Chromebook 3 features an 11.6-inch display with an inferior HD resolution. Likewise, the 11-inch can feel cramped up. On the other hand, it has a stylish look for a cheap laptop and it’s only sold exclusively on Walmart.

On the good side, it has a decent 720p webcam. All-in-all, the Lenovo Chromebook 3 is only good for watching videos or browsing the web. That makes it a good gift if you have a younger kid but when it comes to doing school tasks, it’s not really that worthy of a suggestion.

CTL Chromebook J41

Best for clumsy students and users

Laptop Mag

It’s inexpensive and built for rugged use. The CTL Chromebook J41 fits perfectly for student budgets and it can handle low drops, spills, and other minor abuses. While most low-cost Chromebooks are built on soft plastic chassis, the CTL J41 is made from very rigid plastic. Unfortunately, the extra sturdiness comes with additional weight.

Furthermore, the CTL Chromebook J41 doesn’t come with a touch-screen feature. For the display, it has an 11.6-inch IPS display with 1366×768 resolution. Unfortunately, the display is fairly crisp but there is some pixelation. In addition, it features a wide viewing angle of an IPS display, anti-glare, and reflections.

Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook

Best Chromebook for pen input

TalkAndroid

It’s almost self-explanatory. The Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook offers flexibility for school and works with a performance that you can depend on at least for another year. The Flex 5 Chromebook features a larger display, full-size backlit keyboard, and improved daily performance thanks to the 10th-gen Core i3 processor.

While it offers decent color and contrast, the Lenovo Flex 5 screen needs improvement with its brightness. Overall, it has a good display and a compatible Universal Stylus Initiative. It has a 720p webcam, a good quality mic for your kid’s online learning.
